InnoBlog: Fighting together against Covid-19
With the Covid-19 virus spreading around Europe at an increasingly fast rate, most of us have been confined in our homes, working from our rooms and trying to get our thesis and internships going. It is hard, changing our daily schedules and meeting KPIs from our usual place of resting and chilling. Furthermore, it is becoming increasingly difficult to get started on internships and thesis using online orientation.

Adding to this are the constantly changing rules and regulations in different countries. I have personally found it difficult, as a non-French speaker, to keep up with the updated rules in France, but EIT InnoEnergy has been of great help in this aspect. Most local offices have employees that speak the local language and are updated with the latest advice from government. So do not hesitate to drop an email, phone call or even a message, to request the most updated rules in your country of residence!
Master School Career Centre support
If you are still looking for your second-year thesis or internships, head over to the CommUnity’s Career Centre page, which has an updated list of jobs in Europe, allowing you to get oriented and start working from home, preventing any delays in your start date. However, if you do have an internship, and are unable to start because of the current situation, you can discuss your personal case with your local EIT InnoEnergy representative. They can either help you negotiate with the company, or help you with new internships, to get you started with your thesis.

Last but not least, it is very difficult to generalise the difficulties faced by students, and achieving a common solution that fits every problem. If you have any trouble, financial, psychological or academic, please do contact your local EIT InnoEnergy office. If they are not aware of the problem, they cannot help you with a solution. At this time of trouble, the one thing to keep us motivated is the fact that we are all in this together. So, don’t hesitate to ask for help.
