Kicking Off the Year
March Spotlight: Alumni Month
Momentum picked up quickly with one of the biggest highlights of 2025: the launch of our very first Alumni Month in March. Designed to deepen engagement within our alumni network, the initiative gave students access to invaluable career insights through a series of online panel discussions. Alumni from across the energy and sustainability sectors joined live sessions to answer questions, share their experiences, and offer honest perspectives on navigating life after graduation. Their enthusiasm and generosity reaffirmed the strength of the InnoEnergy community—and the lasting impact of its alumni.
April Innovations: Mentoring and Creative Learning
April brought even more innovation. Career+ Services launched InnoMentoring, a program connecting students with more than 30 experienced alumni mentors ready to provide tailored guidance. From career decisions to industry understanding, the program offered personalised support that helped bridge the gap between academic life and the professional world.
Also in April, the Consulting Club hosted its first live PowerPoint Karaoke event—an energetic, laughter-filled session designed to help students sharpen their presentation skills and think on their feet. The success was so overwhelming that the format is now being expanded to all CommUnity+ locations.
Masters+ Connect: A Flagship Gathering
We closed the month with our flagship event, Masters+ Connect. This annual gathering brings first-year master’s students together with some of the most innovative companies in the sustainable energy space. This year’s program included a special Self-Discovery Workshop by David Young, psychologist for Manchester City Football Club. Focused on leadership, self-awareness, and personal development, the session offered students a meaningful opportunity to reflect, grow, and strengthen their professional mindset.
Welcoming Future Talent: May and June
May and June shifted the spotlight to incoming talent. CommUnity+ hosted a series of online information sessions with program directors and prospective students, addressing key questions about the master’s journey. To provide an authentic, student-led perspective, we also organized an open-floor session where current Y1 and Y2 students answered questions candidly—offering reassurance, clarity, and practical advice.
September: A Warm Welcome
In September, we eagerly welcomed a new wave of students across all campuses. Our welcome events introduced them to the full world of InnoEnergy—from our investments in startups and our vibrant CommUnity+ to Career+ Services and opportunities like the Green Seed Journey competition. These sessions set the tone for a year filled with teamwork, discovery, and curiosity.
Industry Connections Across Europe
Throughout 2025, we continued building relationships with pioneering companies across Europe. Students joined visits to Novatron Lab and Core Power Ocean in Stockholm; Estabanell and Wattium in Barcelona; EDP, Galp, and Exide Technologies in Lisbon; Cactos in Espoo; and Geolink in Paris. Each visit offered a real-world look at cutting-edge technologies and the chance to speak directly with industry professionals shaping the energy transition.
Across all events, 39 speakers took the stage—many of them InnoEnergy alumni, returning to share their expertise and support the next generation of innovators.
Celebrating Connections
Of course, CommUnity+ is also about celebrating our friendships and connections. This year included trivia nights, multicultural potlucks, and a warm end-of-year celebration that brought our students together one last time before summer.
