What Makes InnoEnergy Masters+ Alumni Different

InnoEnergy Masters+ alumni are not your average graduates. They stand out.

With more than 125 companies created by masters+ alumni and eight graduates recognised in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list, this talent pool is clearly doing more than just “getting a job”. They are building the future of the clean industry.

At the heart of what makes the programme so different is InnoEnergy’s belief that technology alone won’t deliver net zero. People will. That’s why the masters+ combines a double master’s degree with a strong entrepreneurial or business-focused element alongside in-depth technical content. Students move between leading European universities and get direct access to a powerful ecosystem of companies and partners.

Our graduates are our secret weapon- transforming every industry from the inside.

For Elena Bou, Co-Founder and Innovation Director at InnoEnergy, the masters+ programme is fundamentally about people. She describes the alumni as “Our secret weapon.”

Her view illustrates the programme’s purpose: to develop individuals who can contribute to the global energy transition and influence the evolution of entire industries.

“We are here to do this transition in global energy, but at the same time, we are transforming every industry, which means transforming from the inside”, says Bou.

We have three full-time team members from the InnoEnergy Masters+ programme.

Companies quickly recognise the difference in InnoEnergy talent. Patrik Möller, CEO and Co-Founder of CorPower Ocean, one of Europe’s leading wave-energy developers, recently spoke about the value these graduates bring. “We have three full-time team members from the InnoEnergy master’s program,” he said.

With InnoEnergy Masters+ students undertaking internships, working alongside mentors during career-impact challenges, and supporting InnoEnergy portfolio companies at TBB, this early exposure gives students a level of readiness that companies can feel immediately.

“It’s a great way to start interacting with people already in the last years of their studies,” says Patrik.

I get inspired by stories from my fellow graduates

For alumni like Piotr Grudzień, now Head of Innovation at Cellect, the standout feature of the programme was its connection to real-world industry problems.

“I think I was exposed to industrial challenges so much at every step of the program,” he says.

He explains that employers notice the double degree and the academic prestige. However, something else stands out even more: “Over time, the skill of connecting the dots, of leveraging the ecosystem, became the most essential quality that my employers appreciated.”

Piotr’s career has continued to reflect that strength. Today, he participates in a selective road-to-C-suite programme designed specifically for Masters+ graduates:

“This is an MBA-like programme that helps us to get shared experiences to learn and grow into more senior roles.”

“I get inspired by stories from my fellow graduates”, he says. And he isn’t the only one.

When I think of InnoEnergy, I think of opportunity

Opportunity is what defines the journey of many Masters+ alumni. It’s not just about earning a degree—it’s about unlocking doors to leadership and impact in the global energy transition.

Take Francis Agar, a graduate of the Master’s in Nuclear Energy programme. Today, he serves as a Board Member of Kenya’s Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) and as a Member of the Nuclear Society of Kenya, helping shape the future of clean energy in Africa. Reflecting on his experience, Francis shared: “This Master’s in Nuclear Energy degree is opening quite a number of doors, and I am thankful.”

His story is a powerful reminder of what makes InnoEnergy graduates different: they don’t just join the energy transition—they accelerate it from the inside out.

And InnoEnergy Masters+ alumni are doing everything that they can to leverage that opportunity. They aim to do more than join the energy transition; they want to accelerate it from the inside out.
